especialista, como o cirurgi\u00e3o m\u00e9dico de cabe\u00e7a e pesco\u00e7o, por exemplo.<\/div><div>s tr\u00eas principais fun\u00e7\u00f5es do dentista estomatologista s\u00e3o o diagn\u00f3stico, tratamento e preven\u00e7\u00e3o de doen\u00e7as bucais, e de \u00e1reas adjacentes da boca.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>O artigo 58 da Consolida\u00e7\u00e3o das Normas para procedimentos nos Conselhos de Odontologia do Conselho Federal de Odontologia (CFO), diz que as \u00e1reas de compet\u00eancia do especialista em Estomatologia incluem:<\/div><ul><li>promo\u00e7\u00e3o e execu\u00e7\u00e3o de procedimentos preventivos em n\u00edvel individual e coletivo na \u00e1rea de sa\u00fade bucal, com especial \u00eanfase \u00e0 preven\u00e7\u00e3o e ao diagn\u00f3stico precoce do c\u00e2ncer de boca;<\/li><li>condu\u00e7\u00e3o ou supervis\u00e3o de atividades de pesquisa e epidemiol\u00f3gica, cl\u00ednica e\/ou laboratorial relacionadas aos temas de interesse da especialidade;<\/li><li>e realiza\u00e7\u00e3o ou solicita\u00e7\u00e3o de exames complementares, necess\u00e1rios ao esclarecimento do diagn\u00f3stico, bem como adequar ao
